Take the Hassle out of being the Responsible Pharmacist (RP) |
The new Regulations governing Responsible Pharmacist (RP) came into force on the 1st October 2009. Among other things, if the RP is to be absent there must be robust SOPs – detailed procedures which are regularly reviewed and updated – in place and various records kept. Failure to do this will be a new criminal offence. There is no definition of robust SOPs but we assume that it means they follow the original RPSGB guidelines i.e. they have a scope and purpose, are detailed so they can be used to train anyone starting the job, are adapted to each individual pharmacy, are signed by all who do the job, having had their competency checked and restrictions listed and are regularly reviewed and updated as necessary. Needless to say all our SOPs fulfil these criteria. |
Package One: The Contractors RP Pack This is aimed at contractors who already have robust SOPs and includes the new SOPs prompted by the RP regulations,e.g. actions to be taken by RP at the beginning of the day; what happens during a period of absence; how changes to SOPs are communicated etc. It also has the new forms and certificates that will be required. The price for this product will be £111.10 +vat & p&p. |
Package Two: The Locum RP Pack This is aimed at locums and will be a starter pack of all the SOPs that will enable the locum to operate as the RP if there are no robust SOPs at the pharmacy, all the forms and a certificate that you can print out where ever you are. These will be supplied on a pen drive so they can be plugged into any computer and the SOPs amended as needed. The price for this product will be £222.21 +vat & p&p. |
Reponsible Pharmacist Training: As part of our CPD2 course, we will be outlining the Legal, Ethical and Practical Training of the RP amendments to the 1968 Medicines Act. |
We have created two packages to help with the increased requirements. |
