The Informacist was started in 2005. When the new pharmacy contractual framework came in we both thought that it was a hell of a lot of work for the independents. So we decided that we could act as a virtual “Head Office” function for independent pharmacists. Using our 20 years of experience in the industry we begun by writing Standard Operating Procedures which you can take and very quickly adapt to your own style of working in your pharmacy. We added a practice leaflet and intelligent ways of recording data on paper and on the computer with our Forms discs. You will see we have since added a Clinical Audit made easy CD which you can use to quickly perform all the audits you need for a couple of years, and are currently working on a Staff Employment Contract, a “Front end” to launch you into the world of the internet, and additions to our forms and SOP CDs. Our Patient Survey system beats everyone else on the market for price. We also believe, unlike the PSNC, NPA, and RPSGB that pharmacists are more than capable of doing this by themselves if they wish to. If you have training needs, then we can support you through a number of projects such as helping you become MUR accredited and in gaining confidence to start them and then make money from them. When you need a little more in depth and specific help we also provide you with the full benefit of our experience by consulting with you in your business. We are pretty good at marketing, helping staff develop and grow, and showing you the hidden profit centres in your business. Probably the most useful thing for you is the analysis by experienced individuals who are outside your business. |

You will recognise Lisa’a chatty style when she rings you up. Lisa is 23 and many of you have been chatting to her for a while. She follows up the letters you have received checking that they have arrived and seeing if you have any questions about them. Lisa is very happy at the moment as she has recently passed her driving test and has bought her first car! Up to now she has been a passenger on her Dad’s motorcycle! |

Who’s who at TheInformacist.com? |

Stef is 20, nearly 21 and has been with us about 6 months. She is engaged to Lisa’s, cousin. Always useful to keep it in the family! Stef knew nothing about community pharmacy and the contract when she started but has picked up the basics very quickly we think you’ll all agree. Recently she and her fiancée have done sterling work on summarising your surveys which has helped us tremendously. So next time you speak to her you’ll be able to picture her. |
